21 Baby!!!
I'm 21, ya its pretty cool.
My birthday was this past Saturday May 14th! I love birthdays! I had an awesome birthday weekend. Judy came and picked Kyle and me up in the morning and we headed up to Salt Lake to the Orson Gygi store. I was so excited! For anyone who doesn't know, I love to cook! Orson Gygi is a way cool cooking/kitchen supply store. Kyle and his mom chipped in and gave me some money to spend on anything I wanted in the store! I got an awesome pizza stone, pasta attachment for my kitchen aid, a sushi mat, an awesome Italian cookbook, and some various other kitchen utensils! I was so excited and we all had a ton of fun!
We went for lunch at Tony Caputos in SLC. It was pretty good, but the really cool thing they have there is an Italian market. Kyle was so in love! He bought some Parmesan that had been aged for 5 years... cost way to much haha! We also got some speck (a prosciutto ham) very good. It'll be fun to use those with the fun things I got earlier.
Kyle also took me to get my nails done, I haven't had them done since our wedding. They are way cute too! I love them :) Later that evening we went up to a wedding in Alpine for one of our friends. It was so nice, we were so happy to see them get married :)
Last Thursday I got to go celebrate a triple birthday with a couple of my friends. My friends Taylor and Brandy both have birthdays around mine. We've been celebrating together for years! So we decided to go out to dinner this year at Red Robin. It was so much fun! It was nice to have a girls night just for us!

Kyle's 23rd Birthday!!

Our drive from Moab to the house we stayed at was so beautiful! It was right on the Colorado River almost the whole way!
It snowed on us while we were at Arches! It got so cold!
Isn't my hubby cute?! This is breakfast/lunch at Denny's
Polenta cakes kyle and i made for dinner one night. We found some pre-made stuff at the local grocery store. We bought a ragu and put Gouda cheese in it as well. Very good!
The shower was pretty sweet. The tile had a fun Arches theme to it!

A little about Trials
Today I’ve been thinking about trials and decided to look up a few quotes and stories. I hope that whoever reads this will know that they are never alone and can overcome any trial that comes their way. Please feel free to share this message with anyone you feel could benefit from hearing these words.
"No one gets through life without a fair number of trials. Although we’d all love a trial-free life, in truth, it is through the trials that we experience our greatest growth and learn who we really are. They make the good times better, because we know good times are not promised at all times."

There are some who have difficulty forgiving themselves and who dwell on all of their perceived shortcomings. There is no hope for me.”
The man noticed a framed picture of a lovely girl on the dresser. “Who is this?” he asked.

Reflection
Today marks one year since my cousin JoAnna and her daughter Kayla passed away. Two of the most wonderful people I have had the privilege of knowing.
I'm so grateful I was married when I was. I didn't know it when I picked it, but Russ and JoAnna share the same anniversary as me and Kyle. It was a wonderful day and I'm go grateful we were all able share such a wonderful time in the temple together less then a month before Joey and Kayla left us.
JoAnna, You've always been someone I've looked up to and admired. You have a beautiful family, you are so strong in the gospel, and you cook like a master! Thank you for being you!
Kayla, I've loved you since you were a baby! You couldn't be a happier kid! Your love of stickers and animals are captivating. You were always so smart and mature for your age. Thank you Kayla for you strong spirit!

I found this poem/song last year when I was having a really hard time accepting their deaths. It brought me comfort and hope.What is this thing called death

I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have of the plan of salvation. Glorious and blessed be the day we are reunited with all our loved ones! I thank God for giving me the change to know and love these two beautiful angels.
Thank you JoAnna and Kayla for being part of my life! I love and miss you very much!
